Dr. Majid Rahimifar is a board certified neurosurgeon specializing in conditions and treatment of the brain, spine, and nerves. He has served the Bakersfield Community for 25 years and has established a well respected Neurosurgery practice. His expertise in neurosurgery has allowed him to help many patients in the local and outlying areas of Kern County.

Dr. Rahimifar has done several thousand surgeries throughout his years of practice including approximately 4,000 spinal surgeries, which include the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He has also performed approximately 4,000 brain surgeries for conditions related to hydrocephalus, brain tumors, brain aneurysms, and pituitary tumors.

Dr. Rahimifar is accepting new patients and is available for appointments Monday through Friday to provide his patients with excellent care.

Dr. Imad Abumeri is a diplomate of the American Board Of Neurological Surgery specializing in treatment of disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves.

Dr. Abumeri earned his medical degree with highest honors from the University Mohammed V in Morocco in 1987. His neurosurgical training began at Faculte De Medicne Paris Descartes, France, one of the most prestigious European universities for medical sciences, where he earned a Neurosurgery Diploma in 1993. He then moved to the United States and completed a two year neurosurgery fellowship at the University of Toledo in 1998. In order to become certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, he underwent a neurosurgical residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2003. Dr. Abumeri had the unique opportunity to be mentored during his training by Dr. Roberto Heros, a recognized authority in the field of cerebro-vascular and skull base surgery. He also trained with Dr. Barth Green, a leader in spine surgery and founder of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Dr. Abumeri has vast experience ranging from brain tumors, brain aneurysm/arteriovenous malformation, facial pain, trigeminal neuralgia, to complex spine surgeries, degenerative, or traumatic, and brings over 20 years of experience to this practice. Following his university-based academic career, he entered into private practice in the New England area.

Dr. Abumeri offers non-invasive treatments whenever these techniques can achieve comparable or better results compared to standard open surgical procedures. Through Dr Abumeri's extensive experience and training, he strives to provide state of the art care for all neurological diseases. Dr. Abumeri is committed to finding the best treatment approach for each patient, maximizing the benefits of surgery while minimizing the risks.

Dr. Abumeri is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
